MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING
July 17, 2010
1) Final plans for the 14th Annual “Leatherneck Open” – Once again, a hearty congratulations and thank you is extended to our chairman – Mr. Len Benedict. This event requires an inordinate amount of time to both plan and execute – this year it looks to be the biggest and best yet.
2) Treasurer’s report – reviewed
3) Scholarship – added two additional $500 scholarships, bringing our educational support of area youths to 4.
4) Reviewed our emergency relief fund – designed to provide support to those Marines and their families that may need financial assistance on a limited basis to get through.
5) Discussed support for the Cpl Brian Schramm Steak Dinner – in honor of this Marine who died in Iraq in 2005.
6) Membership drive – always looking for new members. Spoke of the tri-fold available to all to hand out at events and help drive interest.
